This one day course is presented to stress the importance of proper documentation after a use of force situation. It is an Officer's survival guide in a criminal, civil or administrative action where the officer is the subject officer. It is designed to assist the officer in writing a report that is truthful, lawful, and defensible in the criminal justice system. We will look at how the use of force reporting methods and "early warning" system can work against the officer if they are not prepared with comprehensive report and subsequent testimony during court proceedings... a must for all law enforcement officers and supervisors. We will examine the burdens of supervisor liability and focus on professional performance.
